Dr Travis is the best primary care doctor. My son (8) and I have gone to him for a year now and it’s like having a family member with a medical degree. We absolutely love Dr.Travis! We have a toddler so as you can imagine my wife and I deal with lots of bumps, bruises and illnesses. I've been seeing Dr. Simmons for about two years, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. As a new patient, I was able to secure an appointment with him within 48 hours, which is incredible compared to the usual month-long wait. He’s not just a great doctor; he’s genuinely nice, caring, and an excellent active listener. Dr. Simmons is such a great doctor. He was very thorough in his initial assessment with me and genuinely cares about his patients experience. I’ve never had a doctor be so open to hearing my experience and allowing me to be an advocate for myself. Most doctors I’ve experience are very quick to push unnecessary medications. Also, being able to communicate during business hours without having to make an appointment for health questions is very convenient and reassuring.

I truthfully can’t recommend Dr. Travis highly enough. It’s rare to meet a person who seems to genuinely care so deeply about wanting to help people, particularly in medical care (unfortunate as that may be).

Dr. Travis truly does want the best for his patients and makes you feel so welcome in doing it. The prices are beyond fair, priced so that even those without health insurance can get the attention they need without feeling gouged. He is responsive and helpful even outside of appointments.

Let me just first off say, after visiting multiple pediatricians in San Antonio and New Braunfels, I took a leap of faith on this practice and on Dr. Simmons and I was absolutely blown away. As a mother, all we want to do is be the very best for our children, be their advocate, and protect them from everything, but in a system that is so “monetized” and in my opinion, corrupt, it’s so hard to advocate while also insuring they get proper care. I left my first appointment with Dr. Simmons, and called my husband with tears in my eyes because I’ve never had someone sit down and listen to me, make me feel 100% comfortable with saying what I needed to say, and not make me feel like I was making the wrong decisions for my child. My experience as a patient with DirectMed Primary Care has been amazing so far! Incredible experience! Why have I not found this before? I'll never go back to traditional insurance-based medicine. Dr Simmons is passionate about what he does. He's passionate about learning functional and alternative and diet based medicines to integrate in with his traditional training. What a blessing. I got a complete lab panel for men that would have cost me hundreds with my copay for only $39 that's insane. And I only make a small monthly payment towards my membership and there's absolutely no cost when I walk out of his office.

My family and I switch to Dr. Simmons about a month ago. I could not be happier with my choice. The ability to just text, even with the smallest questions is so helpful. Plus, for a simple procedure like freezing off warts, which cost be an extra $100 with insurance, is no extra cost with DirectMed. Additionally, my daughter got hit in the head pretty hard at school, and he was able to squeeze her in within an hour, instead of sending us to Urgent Care. Plus, the first time he saw my son, he was able to diagnose a skin condition that he had, whereas his pediatrician brushed it off.Dr. Simmons takes the time to listen to his patients, never rushes out the door, is on time to appointments, is open to multiple treatment options, and obviously cares about his patients. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Travis and direct Med. It's so refreshing to have a doctor who actually cares about you! All of the appointments are 1 hour long WITH the actual doctor. (You don't have to use the whole time if you don't need it) but it's so nice to have that time if you need it. He was absolutely great with my kids (2&4). You feel like you are actually cared about and they take the time to get to know YOU and what you want. He is so helpful and if he does not know something he lets you know and does research to help figure it out. He did some research for my son for speech therapy and found amazing option for us. He also helped me with a few different things. It's so nice not to wait an hour to see you're actual doctor for 5 min and repeat yourself 3 times just to be put on another medication. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Travis!
