Hi, I’m Dr. Travis Simmons…
…a board-certified family physician with additional training in functional and integrative medicine. I practice primary care in New Braunfels, TX, where I’ve been caring for patients through the direct primary care model since 2022.
I was born in Texas, raised in northern New Mexico, and earned my biology degree at Texas A&M University (whoop!). I went on to attend medical school at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, and from the very beginning, I knew I wanted to be a family doctor…
How it works
DPC is a modern approach to primary care that puts patients and relationships first and is rapidly growing in popularity across the country. Instead of billing insurance for each visit, we charge a flat, affordable monthly membership fee. This allows for longer visits, easier access to your doctor, and truly personalized care, without surprise bills or rushed appointments.

Adults: $109 per month
Children ages 2-18: $59 or $79 per month (less if an adult is signed up too)
Children under age of 2: $109 per month
Couples: $199 per month
Family Max: $299 per month

All sorts of visits (in-person, virtual, annual exams, sports physicals, etc)
Direct access to your doctor (via text/phone call/email)
Yearly labs (blood cell counts, liver and kidney panel, thyroid panel, cholesterol panel, average blood sugar (A1c), and a prostate number (for men)
Flu, COVID, and strep testing
Urinalysis (for UTIs)
Skin exams, skin biopsies
Stitches and other simple in office procedures
EKGs
Ear wax removal
Joint injections
Lipoma removal
Effective, long acting birth control: IUDs and nexplanon
At cost lab work

No. We don’t bill insurance for your visits with Dr. Simmons. Instead, we use the direct primary care model described above. But we are professionals at working with insurance to get things like labs, imaging, referrals, and medications covered.
